The Wise Acre Eatery connects guests to the source of their food, most of which comes from Tangletown Gardens' 100 acre farm in rural Plato, MN. Here, our Scottish Highland Cattle, Berkshire and Large Black hogs, and free range chickens, ducks and turkeys live stress-free, hormone-free lives with plenty of room to roam. Fresh produce is grown year-round in our greenhouses and fields ensuring a steady stream of farm fresh goodness delivered to our kitchen all the time. We are the folks sowing the seeds, nurturing plants, and tending the animals in the morning, then delivering the harvest to our restaurant’s kitchen in the afternoon—it just doesn’t get any more local than that.
Like Tangletown Gardens' farming philosophy, we make our food as it was made long ago - when everyone ate organic, free range, locally grown food that wasn’t fussy or high-end. It was just good food made with love, from scratch, every day. Our talented culinary team, led by our beloved Executive Chef Beth Fisher, strives to bring our guests back to this old standard of cooking using the season’s best from our very own farm. The restaurant has become the quintessential neighborhood place for casual everyday comfort, including full service coffee bar, bakery, breakfast, lunch, dinner, frozen custard, beer, wine, and weekend brunch with take-away options throughout the day. Wise Acre Eatery is a step forward and backwards at the same time, back to the way food used to be grown and valued, and forward to making this old philosophy of cooking accessible to all.
