We believe that one of the best ways we as humans can take care of ourselves is to put good food in our bodies. This means food that is locally grown with passion and respect for the environment. Wise Acre can confidently say you can trust our food because we grow it ourselves and prepare it ourselves.

We are a collaboration between those that grow the food, those that prepare it, and those that eat it. Farmers and Chefs working together to put the very best on every plate.

People who care.

Scott Endres and Dean Engelmann are both farm boys, growing up on their families’ farms and learning a love and appreciation of plants, animals, and growing things while preserving the land for future generations.  This upbringing helped to develop a strong work ethic, which has not been forgotten as they strive to make their business the very best it can be.  They met as horticulture students at the University of Minnesota, became friends, and their friendship continues to grow to this day.

Our food is crafted with intention by the Wise Acre culinary team and Chef Dan Schmit.

Originally a mechanical engineer, Chef Dan started his restaurant career at Trattoria Tosca in Southwest Minneapolis. Meeting the farmers who grew the food sparked Dan’s interest in local produce. He wanted to know where and how the food is grown. This drive led Dan to Wise Acre Eatery, where the relationship between farm and restaurant is as close as possible. Dan has been chef at Wise Acre for four years where he continues to integrate the farm and restaurant.
